LITTER PICK IN WALTHAM

WALTHAM EXPLORER SCOUTS CARRIED OUT A LITTER PICK IN THE VILLAGE LAST EVENING AND REMOVED 10 BAGS OF LITTER (MONDAY 22.06.09)

ALLISON GREEN TELLS ME
"We did along the main road near the Morgans old place, down the road near the playing field, Stonesby road and down to Bescaby.
Hope to finish it tonight with the younger scouts.

Hopefully it will stay litter free for a while".

THORPE ARNOLD VILLAGE FESTIVAL

The week long Festival (from 2nd. to the 5th. July, 2009)a fund raiser to enjoy - The money will go towards the re-furbishment of the Village hall and St. Mary the Virgin Church.
Activities range from a BBC radio Leicester reocrding of 'Down to Earth' with a ploughman's supper; an organ and solist recital in the church; there are exhibitions displays and demos by the Sealed Knot (English Civil war re-enactment); Open gardens and the Festival ends with songs of praise at 6 pm.

The Chairman's annual report was given at the Parish Assembly Meeting held on Thursday, 28th. May, 2009 in the Harry Hunt Room of Waltham Village Hall. The report gives details of the parish Council's activities over the past year and is presented here in full.
